How to Join
We are glad you chose to worship with us at First United Methodist Church. To become a member of the church or discuss any other decisions, please talk to one of our pastors. At the end of the service, an invitation will be given to come forward and speak to the ministers. You may also join by attending one of our New Connections Gathering classes which are held throughout the year.
You may join by:
• Profession of Faith and Christian Baptism– for people who have never been baptized or confirmed. In other words, this will be your first public commitment of belief in Jesus Christ.
• Profession of Faith– for people who have been baptized but haven’t been involved in another church for a while, or never joined a church as an adult.
• Transfer from Another Denomination– for those whose current membership may be in a church that is Presbyterian, Catholic, Episcopalian, Baptist or other denomination. We will contact your previous church to transfer your membership to FUMC after you join.
• Transfer from Another United Methodist Church– whether it’s in Conroe, another part of the country or even an international church. We contact your previous church and have them transfer your membership to us.
First Church gives our new or prospective members an opportunity to discover their gifts (Spiritual Gifts Assessment) and find their place of service in our church. You will also be given an opportunity to join FUMC Conroe. New Connections Classes are offered periodically and announced in the bulletin. Click here for more information.
